Lewisburg Alliance Kids
LAC Kids is a partnership with parents to teach the basics of Christianity
Helping kids know Jesus in today’s world can feel overwhelming for parents.
Helping kids know Jesus in today’s world can feel overwhelming for parents.
LAC Kids encourages kids to know, think, do, and feel what’s right according to God’s Word.
LAC Kids teaches even the very smallest the significance of the Bible and gets them on the right track to a solid foundation in Jesus.
LAC Kids is FUN! Each Sunday morning is a blessing for everyone, including volunteers.
LAC Kids program is learning through age appropriate interactive lessons
unique curriculum with repetition so they retain the lesson.
Discover Time Activities are designed to engage and challenge kids through hands on learning. These activities are planned to help kids personally connect to the Bible lesson.
We use a weekly take home handout to partner with parents. It educates parents about what their kids are learning and challenges them to apply the lesson at home throughout the week.
What You Can Expect
LAC Kids Children’s Center is located in the downstairs area of the Administration Building. There is a check-in station just inside the door to register kids for the morning. Kids then go to their individual classrooms as others arrive.
Around 10:15 all classes come together in our Worship Area to pray, sing Worship songs, have a Mission Moment, and the primary age kids have a puppet show.
Once everyone is back in their classrooms, the kids are taught the lesson for the day and participate in a Discover Time activity. There is an end of class review game, and then time for parent pickup.
LAC Discovery Land
LAC Kids has implemented the Alliance Kids Discovery Land Curriculum. The gospel of Jesus is the center of our ministry. We teach a Biblical worldview. If you Know Right and Think Right, you will Do Right and Feel Right.
Each classroom has 3 scheduled volunteers for the morning. The Discover Time Leader will facilitate a hands-on learning activity, The Lead Teacher will teach the lesson and connect the Discover Time activity, and the Shepherd is a teen volunteer who will assist the adults and be a mentor to the kids.
This curriculum is designed to take the kids through the entire Bible in 3 years. It is a fun, engaging, and effective way to inspire kids to know, grow, and love God.
Check-in and Pick up
Our Check-in system makes it easy for families to sign-in every Sunday morning and at special Children’s Events!
Infants and kids through 2nd grade are checked into the Children’s Center building. 3rd through 5th graders are checked in at the kiosk located in the Worship Center.
Once kids are checked in, a name tag will be printed for each child, as well as a copy for their parent. Parents must present their tag when picking up children at the end of a session.
To ensure optimal classroom learning and maintain safety for our children, non LAC Kids volunteers are not permitted to stay in the classrooms or hallways. Also, the entrance to the Children’s Center is locked from 10:30-11:30am each Sunday. A Safety person is located at the door at all times.
Infants - 0-23 months
We see it as part of our commission to share the love of Jesus with even the littlest of people!
Nursery is available during the 10:15am worship service.
In order to best ensure that your child’s needs are met, please help us by providing any bottles, pacifiers, snacks, or comfort-loveys in diaper bags. Make sure that everything is clearly labeled in order to avoid any confusion.
Toddlers - 2-3 yrs
Our toddlers enjoy learning about God through age-appropriate interactive lessons. We also set an example of prayer before these impressionable minds. It’s never too early to start laying down a foundation in precious little hearts!
Pre K
Our Preschool Class begins with an age-appropriate lesson with time built in for the many questions these curious minds may have.
There is also a review time and a Discover Time activity to reinforce the lesson. The lesson theme is repeated throughout the morning to help them remember.
Elementary K-2nd Grade
Our Elementary class begins with a Discover Time activity that will set the tone and theme for the lesson.
Next is their Bible lesson, followed by an end of class review game to bring the morning together.
Intermediate 3rd - 5th grade
At LAC we see these grades as transition years… not quite teenagers, but also growing out of their elementary stages.
We desire to cultivate a worship experience for them that supports their quickly changing stages of life. These students join their parents/families in worship during our praise time and then are dismissed to their classroom for the remaining time of the Sunday morning service.
This opportunity gives the students a balance of participating regularly in adult worship while still getting an intimate Jesus-centered learning time with a teacher and their peers.
Once in their classroom, they will have a Discover Time activity and a Bible lesson followed by an end of class review game.
Family Sunday
The first Sunday of each month is Family Sunday. All Elementary and Intermediate classes will attend the Worship Service with their families. We welcome the excitement of having kids in the service.
There is an LAC Kids table set up in the Worship Center with an activity packet and caddie for each kid to use during the service.
*Infants, Toddler, and Pre-K classes will be as usual in the Children’s Center.
Cry Room
If you prefer to keep your little ones with you during the service and you need to step away with them, there is a Cry Room upstairs in the Worship Center. It is equipped with a table and chairs, a rocker, a changing table, basic supplies, and a TV to watch the service.
Safety
Exterior doors remain locked from the outside during the service, and security personnel are always on the premises.
All volunteers must provide the appropriate clearances required by PA state law. Name tags are printed at check-in for both parents and kids. Parents must present the matching tag to pick up kids.
